Gradually replace lost collagen to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and folds
Collagen is a key element of smooth and youthful-looking skin, but the body produces less of this essential component over time. Sculptra® Aesthetic is a facial injectable dermal filler that replaces lost collagen to restore fullness and subtly correct wrinkles and folds – reinforcing the skin’s support structure in the deep dermis. False Creek Healthcare offers Sculptra® Aesthetic with a series of safe, comfortable treatments at our Vancouver clinic. The result? A more refined, youthful appearance that can last more than two years.
What is Sculptra® Aesthetic?
Sculptra® Aesthetic is a facial injectable made from poly-L-lactic acid, which is a bio-compatible (does not harm the body), biodegradable (able to be broken down by the body) material that been used for decades in dissolvable stitches. The poly-L-lactic acid works in the deep dermis layer to replace lost collagen and reinforce the skin’s underlying structure. As the body gradually and naturally absorbs these micro-particles, a stronger collagen framework restores lost volume, improving the look of nasolabial folds and other facial wrinkles. The result is a smoother, more refreshed appearance that emerges over time.
What happens during a Sculptra® treatment?
After a consultation, one of our board-certified plastic surgeons will outline a treatment plan that typically includes three injection sessions over a period of several months. During the procedure, Sculptra® Aesthetic is injected into the deep dermis. Your physician may use a topical anaesthetic to reduce discomfort, but most patients report minimal soreness and swelling. Other potential side effects include redness, tenderness, bruising, and injection site pain, which can all be mitigated with cold compresses and facial massage. Your surgeon will provide detailed recommendations to enhance your comfort and achieve your desired outcome. It’s also important to complete the full course of treatments in order to attain the best results from Sculptra®.

Am I a candidate for Sculptra® Aesthetic?
If you’re eager for a more youthful appearance without sudden changes or looking like you’ve had “work” done, Sculptra® Aesthetic could be right for you. It subtly restores fullness to facial wrinkles and folds that have developed due to age-related collagen loss. The treatment is suitable for the deep nasolabial folds between the nose and the mouth, also known as smile lines.
